The Oral Surgery Team at An-Najah National University Successfully Treats a Rare Case of Jawbone Loss

In a remarkable medical achievement, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team successfully performed a complex and specialized dental implant procedure at An-Najah National University Hospital for a patient suffering from near-total jawbone loss—considered one of the most challenging conditions in this field.

Our team, consisting of Dr. Ahmad Thabet, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zeitawi, and Dr. Omar Imran, successfully carried out the treatment plan by placing zygomatic and pterygoid implants

in the upper jaw, in addition to dental implants in the lower jaw, with immediate loading of temporary teeth directly after the surgery.

The success of this complex procedure reflects an advanced level of surgical expertise, precise planning, and specialized teamwork.

The Faculty of Dentistry continues its commitment to introducing the latest advancements in this field in collaboration with the university hospital. We also extend our sincere appreciation to all hospital staff, including the nursing team, anesthesia and intensive care teams, as well as the hospital administration and director, for their support and cooperation.
