The Orthodontic Laboratory
The Orthodontic Laboratory at the Faculty of Dentistry and Dental Sciences at An-Najah National University is located in the Faculty of Science building (B2 Floor) and is dedicated to training fourth-year clinical dental students as part of the Orthodontics course (Course No. 7503420).
The laboratory provides an advanced educational environment aimed at developing students’ diagnostic and analytical skills in orthodontics. Practical training focuses on key competencies, including:
- Tracing and analysis of cephalometric X-rays
- Space analysis on dental casts
- Discussion and evaluation of malocclusion cases
The laboratory is equipped with essential tools and teaching aids that support interactive and case-based learning, including:
- Cephalometric X-ray images
- Radiographic viewers
- Tracing paper
- Dental casts (study models)
- LCD screen for case presentation and group discussion
The laboratory fosters a student-centered learning environment that enhances critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing students for effective orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning in clinical practice.
