Scientific Research


The Scientific Research Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry is one of the academic units that support development and innovation within the faculty. It aims to promote a culture of scientific research among faculty members and students, and to support the production of high-quality scientific research that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of oral and dental medicine and surgery, improves the quality of dental healthcare, and serves the local and national community.

Vision, Mission, and Objectives

Vision
Leadership and excellence in scientific research in the fields of oral and dental medicine and surgery at the local and regional levels, and an effective contribution to the production of scientific knowledge with a positive health and societal impact, in line with the pioneering role of An-Najah National University.

Mission
To support and develop scientific research at the Faculty of Dentistry by providing a stimulating research environment, encouraging applied and clinical research, and strengthening local and international research collaboration, in alignment with the mission and research priorities of An-Najah National University.

Objectives

  • Encourage faculty members and students to conduct scientific and clinical research.
  • Support the publication of scientific research in peer-reviewed, indexed journals.
  • Promote applied scientific research related to oral health problems in the community.
  • Develop research skills among faculty students, particularly postgraduate students.
  • Enhance research collaboration and partnerships with colleges, universities, and scientific centers at the local and international levels.
  • Contribute to securing internal and external funding for research projects.
  • Promote a culture of scientific research among students and involve them in research projects.
  • Supervision and follow-up of research projects conducted by faculty members and students.
  • Organizing workshops and training courses in research methodology, scientific writing, and research ethics.
  • Supporting scientific publishing procedures and communication with peer-reviewed journals.
  • Encouraging participation in local and international scientific conferences and seminars.
  • Coordinating with the University’s Scientific Research Unit and relevant committees.

Published Research

Peer-reviewed scientific research published in internationally indexed journals in the fields of oral and dental medicine and surgery.

A number of ongoing clinical and laboratory research projects supervised and conducted by faculty members in collaboration with students.

Faculty members of the college, in collaboration with students from different academic years and in partnership with researchers from related health and scientific disciplines from various faculties within and outside An-Najah National University.
